O.C. Tanner Showcases Rolex Watch from Landmark Submarine Dive
O.C. Tanner commemorated the deepest dive in history with a rare exhibit at its Salt Lake City store. Fifty years ago, a Rolex watch called the "Deep Sea Special" was aboard the Trieste submarine, withstanding 2,000 tons of pressure when the Trieste journeyed more than 35,000 feet to the ocean's floor. Specifically designed for the 1960 dive, the watch is still ticking today. Don Walsh, the U.S. Navy captain onboard the submarine, shared his experiences at the O.C. Tanner event, which also featured vintage Rolex watches dating back to 1906.
